The Lost and Found

Oh, how I love living in Texas! You can find bustling cities, calming country, and a just enough fashion to compete with the big boys on the coast.

I love going on adventures. It gives me such a rush. Going somewhere that I’ve never gone before and daring to try something new, makes memories I’ll remember for a lifetime.

This darling place is a true gem. Tucked away in the rolling countryside of Manor, Texas, the building itself tells a story that goes on over 100 years. It was built in 1891, and has been family owned since 1951.

This family owned general store not only smokes some of Texas’ best BBQ (and I’m not just saying that!), but it’s also it’s own Hollywood landmark right here in the Lone Star State. It’s been featured in Secondhand LionsA Perfect World and Texas Chainsaw Massacre I, II and III.

I fell in love with this place the moment I saw it. It looks so intimidating on the outside, but on the inside you’ll find a family atmosphere that’s hard not to embrace.

That’s why I wanted to go back to use it as a background for this post!

It’s still blazing hot in Texas, ya’ll. However, I refuse to let that stop me from stepping into fall! Here’s how I blended in fall fashion with the Texas heat:

Split-sleeved blouse from Topshop.

Let the air right on in, honey! I welcome any blouse that is breezy in this weather (Texas natives, you know what I’m talking about)! I matched this top with my ride or die black jeans from Citizens of Humanity. I’ve had these jeans for about two years and they are by far one of the most comfortable jeans I have. Finding jeans that embrace my curves without giving me a muffin top is like finding a holy grail! Then, I dressed it up with the faux suede heels that I also wore to the Streamy Awards.

This casual look is so comfy and easy to do. I think my favorite fall color is olive green, so this super soft tee from Topshop is already a staple of mine! I paired it with the boyfriend jeans that (surprisingly) actually fit my 5’2″ petite and curvy frame. They are slightly stretchy (thank you, Topshop!), and run true to size!

Dress these with easy, casual kicks and you’ve got yourself an outfit perfect for running errands or grabbing drinks at Bangers on Rainy Street.

As you can see, Topshop really came through with the fashion finds in this post! I love feeling chic while still maintaining a budget!
