Mint Green Detox Tea

Who doesn’t love drinking infused water? Especially when you add fresh mint to it!

I don’t know about you, but any drink with fresh mint it it makes me so happy. And yes, I am mainly talking about Mojitos!

But for those days when you wake up and really need a great detox to reboot your system, (i.e. after the night of mojitos), this is the perfect drink for you!

The main ingredients are:

Green Tea – A fantastic metabolism booster! For this recipe I used Yogi blueberry infused green detox tea. That’s what gives it that pretty magenta color. I found this at my local grocery store. You can use any kind of green tea you like! I like fruity green tea because regular green tea tastes too bitter for my liking.

Limes – The health benefits of lime include weight loss, skin care, improved digestion, and so much more! All I did was google “benefits from limes,” and a huge list popped up! Not only is it great for you, but it adds so much flavor to the tea!

Mint – I love fresh mint, ya’ll. Not only does it add sweetness without the sugar, but its a great palate cleanser, and it promotes healthy digestion.

Ingredients:

Water

1 Lime

1-2 Green Tea bag

1/3 cup Mint

Directions:

Use a large mason jar (I used 24 oz), so that you can drink on it through out the day. Fill it with filtered water but leave enough room to add the ingredients. Add 1 to 2 bags of the green tea (depending on how strong you like your tea) and place in the fridge for 30 min. It’s okay to do this over night; we are doing a cold brew here!

In the meantime, slice your lime and de-stem the mint leaves.

When the tea is ready, remove the tea bags and add half of the lime and the mint leaves and stir.

Enjoy!
