Here’s what’s funny about this post: It was going to be all about the boots.
I wasn’t even looking for them, but once I tried them on I just knew they were meant to be mine. I am currently wearing them right now with my favorite J Brand dark denim and an over sized sweater!
I went to Nordstrom to snag these perfect looking Steven Madden over the knee boots that I fell in love with online. The sales lady that helped me went to the back and grabbed the pair in my size, and I slipped them on over my yoga pants (I had just worked out). Awkwardly enough, what looked amazing on the model, swallowed my leg WHOLE. I am not exaggerating. I should have taken a picture. It was like a bad reenactment of a trashy Pretty Woman. All I needed was a blonde wig and a 1989 Lotus Esprit, and I could have easily driven myself straight onto Hollywood Blvd as a convincing Viv.
Dejectedly, I rolled the boot down, slipped it off of my little leg, and gave it back to the lady. But, y’all… I’m not a quitter. I realized that what was “over the knee” for models was “entire leg” for me, and “knee high” for models was, well, you’re getting it.
That’s when my eyes fell on these boots. Sam Edelman, Victoria, knee-high suede boots. Hubba, Hubba! It’s a slouchy boot which means it will fit perfectly over your jeans. They are incredibly comfortable, and priced right under $170.00! I love them so much. They are my new fall staple. You will see me wearing them often.
But then, this happened:
And I realized that this dress was the star of the show. So, here’s how I took this dress from Day to Date!
At first I had a hat:
And I was feelin’ myself. I had to do the Formation pose. I had to! But, this hat was a little too big for me, so I took it off.
Then I kicked off the boots and dressed up with these wine colored suede heels. I tucked my hair into a low bun, showed off my oversized earrings, and I was ready for a romantic evening with my sweet boyfriend. (;
